Gene Mutation Print

Here is another project for Son of Monsterpalooza. It all started with a full size Latex Mask. I decided to try my new acquired scanning techniques and make a 6" bust. The 1:1 process was not difficult, but time consuming. It also took a little longer, due to the printing problems. I believe I printed this bust more than 3 times. I also started to experiment with different resin manufacturers. I finally got it down and decided to cast and mold my own bust.

Embryo Print

Another Son of Monsterpalooza, another creature made. This year I started to really put my 3D printer to work. Since Monsterpalooza was coming up, why not do something for that? I started by making a quick concept and final model in Zbrush. Hours later, the Embryo was born. I decided to change things up this time around and mold and cast all the new creations. Well, I think I bit off more than I can chew. The process was a lot of work and I tip my hat off to those that do this all the time.

Kinect for Windows and Structure Sensor

Early last week I received these 2 new toys to play with, but I've been so busy prepping for Sons of Monsterpalooza that I haven't had time to do any test.

Norman Cabrera talk

A few days ago I had the pleasure of attending the MUD presentation where Norman Cabrera was a special guest speaker. It was really inspirational to hear his career path and experience in the FX industry. I would highly recommend any inspiring artist to attend these types of talks. They have so much insight.
